Why Syntex? What sets it apart from other metadata management solutions? The answer lies in its AI-driven capabilities. Syntex uses machine teaching to better understand the content of your files, enabling you to automate tedious tasks that you would otherwise manually complete. It’s the next logical step if you’re already involved in document management and looking to elevate your SharePoint experience.

Billing and Licensing

Before you start extracting value from Syntex’s AI-driven capabilities, it’s crucial to understand the billing and licensing options available to you as this isn’t a feature that is bundled with the standard Microsoft 365 license and is not available on all SharePoint subscriptions. Microsoft Syntex offers two main avenues for this: pay-as-you-go and per-user licensing. You can either opt for Microsoft Syntex pay-as-you-go or go for per-user licensing. Depending on your choice, the setup steps will differ slightly but both require you to navigate through the Microsoft 365 admin center.

A Few Tips: Regardless of your choice, you’ll need to be in the Microsoft 365 admin center to activate your license. Ensure that you are a Global Admin or a Billing Admin to perform these tasks. After activation, you may also need to assign the Syntex license to specific users manually, which is also done through the Microsoft 365 admin center under Users > Active Users > Licenses and Apps.
